learn..
to upgrade ourselves, we should have an open-mind to be able to learn new things…
be it whether it is relevant or irrelevant to your working environment…
but it is not suprising that you learn new things everyday mostly from the place where you spend most of your time at…
as for me, during the weekdays that is, it will be my workplace with my colleagues.
it is much more interesting for me considering the fact that i have a French guy in the office, so alot of new words and things are being shared over the days.
and today, i am proud to share that i have learnt a new word..
(hey! call me suaku or bakward, but it is really the first time i heard it and i bet some of u out there didnt know it either)
presenting the word..
ONOMATOPE
[O`nom´a`tope] - An imitative word;
it derived from ONOMATOPEIA.
It has been maintained by some philologist that all primary words, especially names, were formed by imitation of natural sounds.
Origin: L, fr. Gr., a name + to make. Source: Websters Dictionary. (01 Mar 1998)
so there…
the buzz of the bees, the hiss of a goose, the croak of a frog, the moo of a cow. These are considered as onomatope.
so now my question is the deng-deng-tak-deng-deng-deng of a rebana onsidered as an onomatope? =p
i doubt so.
kalo ko palu klua bunyi Mbek Mbek Mbek…
onli den its considered as an onomatope.
sebab originated from a kelantanese kambing.
